Utensil is the collective term for items that affect the game state. The two most common utensils are spoons and pegs but in theory others are possible, particularly under Cress rule subsets. For example, there are documented uses of skewers, forks and nibs in games. Pegs and spoons are usually considered to be wooden utensils; forks, nibs and skewers are usually assumed to be metallic.
