High stations include all those stations eligible for use in a Hills and Valleys cascade, such as Harrow-on-the-Hill, Tower Hill, Mill Hill East, High Barnet, Kensal Rise and, traditionally, Swiss Cottage. A feature common to all high stations is that a high line velocity is required to reach them, reaching a high station generally reduces LV by a significant amount, and leaving such a station typically gives an almost equally large LV boost. Dollis Hill, of course, carries a large number of additional tactical considerations that are unique to it.
High stations include all those stations eligible for use in a Hills and Valleys cascade, such as Harrow-on-the-Hill, Tower Hill, Mill Hill East, High Barnet, Kensal Rise and, traditionally, Swiss Cottage. Reaching a high station requires a high line velocity, a significant proportion of which will be at least temporarily lost. Conversely, leaving such a station gives a similarly large LV boost. Dollis Hill, of course, carries a large number of additional tactical considerations that are unique to it.
