Ongar is the home station for the well-known Ongar Denial. Ongar's status in recent years as a Ghost Station makes the timing of the Ongar Denial critical; if Ongar is played too early or too late, the manoeuvre to be blocked is likely just to be delayed by a turn or two. To use Ongar successfully requires a strong presence on the Central Line, and it is often advisable to exploit the Grange Hill loop. Players should also be aware that over-use of the Ongar Denial may be considered unsporting, and could cause opposing players to Force.
