Save Solution Command
« on: November 09, 2006, 05:52:41 AM »

Hello Kevan,
My lazy ass was wondering if you could do a little in-game command. It's really just a shortcut, but on the other hand, it would be quite usefull and easy to make.

Let's say I am member X. I have just solved the puzzle "bynapop" and I want to save and store it in the warehouse in order to put it in the forum.

The command would do the following:
1 - Save my game using name Y
2 - Put it in the warehouse, using this data:
       code: Y
       title: X's bynapop Solution
       designer: X

I know it's really optional, but still, don't you think it would be nice ?!  Grin

I'm confused.  How is that different to what we currently do?  That's exactly how I put my solutions in the forum.

I think Handi means that the game applet would save your level as that, whenever you clicked "Save". It's possible, but would require a lot of interface kicking, particularly the name input (the existing text input functionality is pretty basic, in the applet). If I ever revamp the basic "Save" functionality, though, it'll be trivial enough to automatically include the original-puzzle filename, I'll keep it in mind.

It's exactly what I was thinking of, Kevan.
Maybe if the applet would automatically retrieve cookies, it could directly get the name of the user...

I get it now.  It skips the warehouse form.
