Use the West Pier webcam to check whether it's sunk or caught
fire or been dragged away by over-enthusiastic driftwood collectors yet.

"19.30 Fred Dibnah Interrupts - Spoof TV show.
Dibnah travels Britain asking unsuspecting local amateur historians to
explain their specialist subject to camera, then humililiates them by
standing beside them and loudly interjecting 'Yup-yup-yup' in an annoyed
and increasingly frustrated tone of voice, suggesting that he knows the
subject much better than they do, until they lose their
place."
Other Listings Magazine seems to be far more
active than it has any particular right or reason to be, at the moment. Some good stuff in there.

Life mimicking nagging background thoughts - Swappingtons
is an online forum for showcasing your unwanted possessions and giving them
away to anyone who's interested; the receiver pays out a number of ethereal
"swap points" which you can then use to "buy" other people's items. Which
seems a bit of a harsh economy in that it values this artificial currency over
external friendships and sheer need or enthusiasm, but I'm sure it'll evolve in
useful ways.

"And here, according to Trout, was the reason human
beings could not reject ideas because they were bad: Ideas on Earth
were badges of friendship of enmity. Their content did not matter.
Friends agreed with friends, in order to express friendliness. Enemies
disagreed with enemies, in order to express enmity."
A rippled plastic tray of delicious Vonnegut quotes; sharp and simple
commentary on the human condition, lifted here and there from a few of his books. [via Matt]
