A fun, slapstick
update on the ChatNannies hoax - some
NewScientist journalists and AI researchers are invited to
Jim Wightman's house to preview a "stripped-down" version of the
NannieBot software, which turns out to behave a lot like the
(free to download) Alicebot,
and doesn't appear to react to loaded paedophile-style questions.
Jim offers to decrease the mental age of the bot and to check
the database log, when suddenly... there's a power cut, and the
trial is abandoned.
