Interesting find from Ben - The Lexicon Game, a form of collaborative
Wiki-encyclopaedia creation, where each letter of the alphabet is
descended upon in turn, and a specific number of backward and forward
references must be made. An increasingly reinforced
karass of us have started a game of it
here, researching the Orbital Wars, whatever they might
turn out to be.
And it's striking that the fictionalisation of it is completely
arbitrary - that there's no reason why it couldn't be a factual
theme-specific encyclopaedia, played as a "name things beginning with A"
game, or a new species of Glass Bead Game.
Which leads me on to the remarkable similarities between the Lexicon Game
and 1995's multi-contributor, single-editor, static-page, completely-factual Encyclopaedia Morningtonia. As I'm in a bit
of nail-seeking-hammer Wiki daze at the moment, I've decided to
resurrect the Morningtonia as a Wiki,
which has made it instantly more authorative and inviting. Promising.
