This is just ridiculous... Doesn't the equal airtime only go for political advertisements or interviews?
That is, the law I mean. Obviously it's possible that the Sci-Fi Channel just doesn't want to seem like they're promoting him in some way. And that's fine if they make that decision. But god, the media sure isn't worried about giving Arnold vastly more air time. And they're the ones that the law applies to. Chloe - Fri 15 Aug, 14:38:57 |
I think "Total Recall" could only be relevant in a Presidential race, and since Arnold can't run for President that should be fair game.
The "Terminator" movies, on the other hand, are very relevant to California since it shows his views on driving on California roads and the basic impotence of California police against super-robots - and how he may seek new uses for the L.A. River. Then there's "End of Days" which totally expresses his opinion on Satan, which is sure to bring in the Religious Right to his camp. Of course, "Jingle all the Way" is probably not relevant since it features an actual cold Christmas, something few Californians can even pretend to worry about. "True Lies" is another movie that I think would only be relevant in a Presidential election - or possibly a Florida election. "Last Action Hero" is a movie about a movie, so perhaps we can see that one since any political message would be double-filtered and therefore automatically lost. I definitely think that "Kindergarten Cop" should be not shown because it is just a long commentary on early childhood education. Most the rest of his early movies are probably ok because they transcend (is that the right word?) state-level politics and feature a higher, more nobel message about humanity and the role a submachine gun can play in the resolution of modern man's problems. One exception is "Hercules in New York," which should not be shown under any circumstances to the voters in California - or to anyone else every again, for that matter. eMath - Sat 16 Aug, 03:26:50 |
Sorry, this is not a comment about your post... I was just wondering about your blog twinning project and how my blog came to be in it. I was also wondering what connection is there with my blog and the other blog that is linked with mine. By the way, the Blog Twinning seems like a great idea! :) thushara - Sat 16 Aug, 09:15:24 |
Crossing streets and paths, you enter into many lives. Some might be brief while others are longer. Some would etch a deep impression on others while some are left faintly. Caverta - Thu 28 Oct, 08:56:55 |
