Pelican crossings don't beep at all, any more, do they? I maybe encounter one a year that does.

my girlfriend revealed this to me by suddenly grabbing my hand and sticking it underneath the button-box. i nearly messed my pants.

it was such a revelation, in fact, that i'd say it's like being blind and then being able to see.

that's so offensive to blind people...

It's true! I never noticed them not beeping, oddly enough, but I haven't found one that do since I start actually paying attention. There seems to be several in Guildford that have had the rotatey-thing removed though.
