The first 24 Hours of Inform contest began at 10am (GMT) on the
27th of February 2002, and finished 24 hours later.
"The adventurer must resolve a dispute between two antagonists, in a way which benefits himself (and, optionally, them). The game should include at least two of: a hat, some food, some money. Also, it should be interesting."
As it turned out, only one entry was completed - Zarba dropped out, and Eperdu's overambitious plans were far too grand to fit into a single day.
