The term 'multiculturate' is used when distinguishing between the two main types of colonies in the galaxy, the other type being the Ethnic Kingdoms. Multiculturates are colonies that contain a varied mix of races. They also tend toward left-wing politics, and are able to change policy much quicker then the more entrenched Ethnic Kingdoms. Over 60% of the colonies in the galaxy are currently classified as multiculturates, and as the Ethnic Kingdoms continue to open their borders to other races the number will continue to grow and eventually the term will be meaningless. The most important multiculturate of the Orbital Wars was arguably Rutland?, whose development of modern [Thorn Vessels]? led to the climax of the conflict in [Phase Six]?.
