The privatised companies now running the trains are now collectively described as 'National Railways' on the LU map. The track and signalling are owned by another privatised company called Railtrack. Nevertheless, play on the network is still generally referred to as 'British Rail' play, and competition for ticket stubs can be intense at those stations which function as interchanges between London Underground and British Railways.
