A Chromatic Shunt is an exotic form of the standard Shunt manouevre that in addition to changing the target's location also imposes a Colour Variance upon them. Arthur Cripplehead proved in one of his earlier papers that a Pickering is in fact the cross product of a stationary and a chromatic shunt, provided that Ould's inclination is the same for both.
