If Bethan's Return is played at least ten moves before MC is called (and/or prior to Bethan's Single being played), then the game cannot be won by playing MC. Instead the person who plays MC as a move does not win, but opens it up for the person who initiated Bethan's Return to call that move as their own, and take the victory. This call must be made as the Bethan's Return player's immediate move after MC has been called. Bethan's Return cannot be countered, and is an absolute move with no contesting. Naturally, experienced players will thus contest it as a matter of reflex.
