The Encyclopaedia has now been locked; contributors must log in to make changes. [more]
  1. To turn a corner. This sense sees precious little use these days since variants which incorporate a directional component in line velocity are rarely played.
  2. To box an opponent using in part the topology of the board. That is, a player's movement is restricted partly by the actions of another player, but also by the physical constraints of their surroundings. For example, if Garden is at Amersham and Rushton places a block at Chorleywood (not Chalfont & Latimer!) then Garden can be said to be cornered.
