Generally considered to be the simplest form of mapping, a reflection mapping reverses the chirality of all stations and may alter the topology of the manifold depending on the axis of reflection chosen – usually one of the diagonals. Two reflection mappings usually cancel one another out, restoring the map to its original state. By comparison, the other common forms of mapping are usually cumulative in effect.
