Once only famous as a service area on the M5, Strensham became an essential part of Mornington Crescent when the first part of the Jubilee Line Extension was opened. The juxtapositioned forces now pulling against Barbican were enough to require marshalling along all electrified LT lines alongside mainline ones. The result became known as the Strensham Effect or Strensham Magnet.
