Any form of move which, generally speaking, ignores the states of intervening stations.

A useful rule of thumb is that a tunnelling move is valid if it can be traversed 'beneath the board' (if you imagine that your board has a mirror image of itself printed on the underside, with zone boundaries and all other details intact).
