This phenomenon is caused when one player repeatedly moves back and forth along a line to increase line velocity. It can be quite dangerous if practiced on the Circle line as it can result in a player performing a whole circuit or more in a single move, making it impossible for any other players to break out of zone one, or any area bounded by the circle. This often ends in stalemate, as the circling player must eventually slow down enough to change lines, thereby giving the other players a chance to escape from within the bounded area.
