"A methodology of assessing cost/benefit to street
walkers in the rain is proposed, using benefit to self (wetness of hair
after a standardised walk down the pavement using an umbrella) against
cost to the Other (weighted mean of eye injuries caused by umbrella
spokes in the Accident and Emergency departments of local
hospitals)."
The Use of Golfing Umbrellas in General Street Use as a Key Indicator
of Individuality in Society; Matt Webb still hates umbrellas, and
so do I. I found a dead one sprawled in the middle of the road the other
morning, heavy with rain and waving its spiny talons beneath passing
cars until I hoicked it over a wall. I'm all in favour of a poster
campaign and some militant water-pistolling. Sign me up.

"From this, we see that every repetition of steps 3-5
removes 60MCr from the Bank and puts it into Damanor's account, and
gives me two Eetcha of Luxury Goods. If we repeat steps 3-5 another
seventy-nine times..."
Three cheers for convoluted Nomic scams. I've successfully collapsed
the Galactic Economy of BlogNomic
and bought it out, which counts as fulfilling a victory condition. As
usual at the end of a round, the complex theme rules have been trimmed
away to expose the bare, gleaming metal of the core ruleset - a new
theme will be evolving from scratch over the next few weeks. Now is a
very good time to join.
Update: I've chosen a theme - that of John Carpenter's The Thing. "All Lifeforms have a Species - either Human or Thing. All Lifeforms begin the game as Human. The Radio keeps track of each Lifeform's Species secretly."
