If a
rebound at a
terminus or a move round a
ring is attempted at excessive
line velocity,
derailment – or worse – is a likely consequence. This reduces line velocity not just for the player concerned, but often across the entire line or even most of the network, and may cause surrounding stations to become
blocked or even
bulkheaded. A deliberate self-derailment is usually grounds for disqualification, and even accidental derailments are likely to attract heavy censure.
