A terminus is the physical end of a line. All lines have termini except for the Circle Line. However, if a line terminates in a ring (such as the Heathrow Terminal loop) then no single station counts as a terminus, although for some game purposes the entire loop may be usable as such. Termini are often good choices for home stations as they are usually far enough away from other game effects that they are not greatly affected by them. Conversely, if a player is forced to a terminus, that usually means he or she is on the defensive, unless planning a rebound or other trick manœuvre. However, it is a mistake to rely on a home station terminus remaining untouched throughout a game, and being so distant they are often vulnerable to being blocked.
