Kilter is a measure of a particular player's colour balance. It has no units. A player may fall
out of kilter due to incautious or hostile uses of
frumes or
colour variances, and in this state
pickering is well-nigh impossible and it is very hard to take advantage of active
cascades, particularly the
Parks and Greens, Parks and Royals and Chromatic cascades.
The best way to restore kilter is prompt deployment of one or more tartan or other mixed-colour podumes. Players may find it convenient to refer to the following partial [podume colour summary] provided by courtesy of the White Rose Mornington Crescent archive.
