A mapping which is defined using a vector measured from the meridian, all points being translated according to that vector displacement.

Usually deployed in situations where large discontinuities in line topology have been introduced by enthusiastic application of some more destructive manœuvres, and where the number of playable stations is radically reduced. Otherwise, wholesale mapping of this type can cause immense confusion as it is very easy to make a mistake and have all stops on the Central line, say, shifted three stops to the east. This faux pas is known as a Dagenham Heathway.
